Application Background

Bajaj Motor Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of high-quality automotive parts that are run through a grinding process to ensure super finish & accuracy. Water-based coolant is held in an 800 ltr tank, It is delivered to the contact point and re-circulated via a 10 micron paper band filter.

Problem

Paper band filter could only remove contamination down to 10 micron. Ferrous particles were still circulated in the coolant solution causing damage to the pump, grinding wheel and scratches on parts surface lead to a high rejection rate.

Solution

Filtramag FM 2.5 was installed along with the existing filter. It was installed in the circulation flow between the pump and machine. Filtramag ensured sub-micron filtration. As a result, it increased the life of the pump, grinding wheel and reduced the rejection rate. It also helped to achieve the desired R.A value.
