Appearance changes: From murky brown to clear lighter amber
After a mere 48 hours of filtration, the cleanliness level of the 4 years oil hydraulic oil improved vastly from initial NAS 1638 level 11 to level 5. (Please refer to attached Guide-to-Contamination- Standards.pdf for definition and explanations).
At NAS 1638 Level 5, Kleenoil filtered hydraulic oil is cleaner than new hydraulic oil!
At NAS 1638 Level 5, Kleenoil filtered hydraulic oil fulfils the stringent requirements of servo valves and high pressure longlife systems
Oil appearance also changed from brown to clear lighter amber. No sediment found in the filtered oil sample, a clear evidence that harmful contaminants have been removed.
Amazingly, the bulk oil temperature dropped from 42.7°C to 41.4°C, a drop of 1.3°C.
The Kleenoil Patch Tests carried out on the pre-filtered and after-filtered oil samples show a vast difference in appearance from dark brown patch to light yellow patch indicating the filtration has removed all the particulates that can be seen by naked eyes. This is a proof of the efficiency of the Kleenoil Depth Filtration System.
The removal of particulates from the hydraulic oil means that the particulates that used to wear off the hydraulic components are no longer there or fewer of them as shown in the illustration. This translate to lesser wear, longer lifespan of hydraulic component. With lesser wear and tear, lesser heat generated that accounts for the drop in bulk oil temperature!
With the filtered hydraulic oil becoming “better than new” conditions, oil change interval can be extended.
Each Kleenoil cartridge holds 3 kg of particulates, that’s a lot of dirt and debris from hydraulic oil. Certainly the two used cartridges can be used for other machines, making usage of Kleenoil a very cost effective investment!
